2023: Christians have nothing to fear from APC’s Muslim-Muslim presidential bid — Keyamo

The Minister of State for Labor and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has said that Christians have nothing to worry about over the Muslim-Muslim presidential bid from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The party’s standard-bearer, Bola Tinubu, a Muslim from the south, announced Kashim Shettima, a Muslim from the north, as his running mate on Sunday, a decision that has drawn condemnation from inside and outside the APC. Some prominent APC members who have condemned the fine include; the former Secretary of Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; Elisha Abbo, Senator; Kenneth Okonkwo and others. Keyamo, in a series of tweets on Wednesday, said Nigerians should focus on the duo’s credentials, adding that clerics should not mislead Nigerians about whom to vote for. In justifying the decision, Mr Keyamo, a Senior Nigerian Lawyer (SAN), said that “the elites are selfishly trying to smuggle religion into politics.” “So the APC comes to the table with two highly successful state chief executives who did extremely well in their states during their terms, elected excellent successors (Fashola and Zulum), and a former First Lady and distinguished Senator. It’s a case of buy one, get three free.” Nigerians and Christians in particular should have NOTHING TO FEAR of a President and Commander-in-Chief (by the grace of God and the votes of Nigerians). “Nobody should trick us, as ordinary Nigerians, be it a pastor or an imam, into voting or not voting for someone based on the religious coloration of the ballot. “Let the debate begin on the PERFORMANCE of Bola Yinubu as Governor of Lagos State and not the issue of the same faith.” Mr. Keyamo noted that “Bola Tinubu allowed his only wife to be a practicing Christian and a pastor under the same roof for some 40 years.” Nigerians, and Christians in particular, should have NOTHING TO FEAR from a President and Commander-in-Chief (by the grace of God and the votes of Nigerians, @oficialABAT) who allowed his only wife to be a practicing Christian and a pastor under the same roof for some 40 years. — Festus Keyamo, SA (@fkeyamo) July 12, 2022 Read More Related News Here Let here it in the comment below if you do have an opinion on this; 2023: Christians have nothing to fear from APC’s Muslim-Muslim presidential bid — Keyamo
