Again, APC adjusts calendar for primaries

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has once again changed the timing of its primary elections. Félix Morka, the party’s spokesman, unveiled the new calendar on Tuesday. This is the second time adjustment in less than 24 hours. PREMIUM TIMES had published the last modification of the document. The primary election for the Senate (LGA delegates) was set for May 27, while the House primary (LGA delegates) would be held on May 28. Primaries for Gubernatorial (state delegates) and State Assembly (local government area (LGA)) were to be held on May 26. In the new schedule, the House primaries (LGA delegates) will be held on May 27 and the Senate primary election (LGA delegates) is set for May 28. The party said that the special convention for the presidential primaries will be held as scheduled from May 29-30. However, the party is still silent on the selection date of the presidential hopefuls. Morka had announced the postponement of the screening and promised to publish a new date. The screening of its presidential hopefuls was initially scheduled for Monday, but in the statement, the party announced an indefinite postponement of the exercise on Sunday.
