Atiku and Fayemi condemn the attack on the Ondo church

Former Vice President of Nigeria and Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, atik abubakarhas said he is devastated by reports of dozens of lives lost following the attack on St. Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa, in Owo Mr. Atiku, in a statement from his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, condemned the attack and any similar attack on a cult center as unacceptable. “Any attack on innocent citizens of a gathering of worshipers anywhere in Nigeria is condemned; it’s a red line,” Atiku said. “My prayers are with the people of Owo, especially the families of the deceased. I hope the state government and relevant security agencies leave no stone unturned to stop criminals. “I condole all the affected families; the Saint Francis Owa-luwa Catholic Church; the body of Catholic faithful in Nigeria and the people and government of Ondo State. “While I pray that one day, very soon, we will have a lasting solution to these painful episodes, I urge law enforcement agencies to continue their efforts to uncover the culprits and bring them to justice.” Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti described the killing of worshipers as barbaric, in a statement from his chief press secretary, Yinka Oyebode. The Governor also commiserated with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) and the people of Ondo State for the incident. He urged state security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators of the crime were arrested and forced to face the wrath of the law. Fayemi also instructed them to stay alert. “The authors of this cowardly act must not go unpunished. We call on the relevant law enforcement agencies in the state to jump into action and make sure they are carried out. “Our condolences to the government and good people of Ondo State, as well as the families who lost loved ones in the carnage,” he said. However, in solidarity with the sister state, the Governor directed Ekiti Health and Human Services Commissioner Banji Filani to immediately send human and medical resources to Ondo State.
