Gunmen kill motorcyclist in Osun

Gunmen on Friday killed a commercial motorcyclist, identified as Toyin Oluwaseun, inside an unfinished building in unharmedOsuna state. Details of the incident are still sketchy, but a resident in the area who preferred not to be identified said the body was taken away by police. Yemini Opalola, the police spokeswoman in the state, in a statement confirmed the incident. She said police have launched a search for the commercial motorcyclist’s killers, adding that the body has been placed in the Wesley Hospital morgue in Ilesa for autopsy. “The investigation is in progress to track down and arrest the perpetrators. Further development will be communicated in due course,” said Ms. Opalola. He said police learned of the motorcyclist’s death when a certain Taiwo Asa, the owner of the unfinished building, reported finding the body of an unidentified person inside his building. “Taiwo Asa found an unidentified young man near death with serious head injuries in his unfinished building on a new site off the Ilesa/Akure express road. Supol ‘B’ Ilesa quickly mobilized detectives to the scene but found the victim dead,” he said. The police spokesman said detectives searched the deceased’s body and found an ID card from an Okada bikers’ association. “An Okada Association ID card with the name: Toyin Oluwaseun was found in the pocket of the victim aged about 22,” he said.
