Insecurity: Nigerian police give 15 tips on how to stay safe

The Delta State Police Command has shared some safety tips with Nigerians on how to stay safe amid the increasing insecurity in the country. The command shared the tips in a tweet on its @DeltaPoliceNG account on Friday. Virtually every part of the country is currently struggling with one form of insecurity or another with various ongoing crimes, much of it unabated. Parts of the Northwest are now being overrun by violent bandits who kidnap for ransom and kill victims who cannot pay for their freedom. While the north-central is also plagued by criminal bandits and herdsmen operating in parts of Kogi, Benue and Nassarawa, the northeast is still waging a long-running war with Boko Haram and other insurgent groups like ISWAP. Although authorities say the insurgents have been largely “demoted” and are now “more focused on soft targets and lone military formations,” Boko Haram elements are still able to carry out attacks in many parts of the northeast, including military outposts. and formations The Southeast and South-South regions are also facing attacks from suspected separatists.
