Lagos closes Chrisland Schools amid child sex tape scandal

The Lagos state government on Monday announced the closure of all Chrisland schools in the state following an alleged rape involving some students during an international trip. The school has at least seven branches in the state. The development comes months after the state also closed Dowen College, following the controversial death of Sylvester Oromoni. The alleged rape occurred when Chrisland School was in Dubai in March to participate in the World School Games, an annual four-day competition featuring schools from around the world. News of the alleged rape came to the fore when talent manager Ubi Franklin accused the school of complicity in the rape involving the girl and another male student. “Just got off the phone with a friend of mine 💔💔💔💔 His 10-year-old daughter was selected to represent her school at the World School Games in Dubai,” he wrote on his Twitter account on Sunday night. “Her daughter was raped by fellow students, a video was recorded and posted on Instagram and the school hid it for a month.” Chrisland is not new to sexual controversy. I was not aware. We were not informed.” Suspension Chrisland suspended the 10-year-old for what he described as “inappropriate behavior.” In a suspension letter published by People Gazette Newspaperdated April 14, the school told parents that their ward was an “important participant” in a game of truth or dare with other male students.
