Nigeria records 74 new infections on Wednesday

Nigeria recorded an additional 74 COVID-19 infections in eight states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Wednesday. The latest statistics published by the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) On Wednesday night, they show confirmed cases have pushed Nigeria’s number of infections to 255,415 cases. While the death toll remains at 3,142, the Center for Disease Control noted that the confirmed infections contain data from March 29 and 30, 2022. NCDC noted that a total of 249,606 people have been discharged across the country. The breakdown of cases shows that Lagos state, the epicenter of the disease in the country, came first on the record with 35 cases, followed by Bauchi state with 12 cases. FCT also recorded 11 infections; Abia State in the southeast, five; Kaduna and Kano states in the northwest recorded four and three cases respectively. NCDC added that five states: Ekiti, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Sokoto reported no cases.
