Osun 2022: I will claim mandate in Court

Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun says his faith in the judiciary regarding the petition to the Osun Elections Petition Court over the just concluded gubernatorial election remains firm and unshakeable. Mr. Oyetola made the remarks at the association’s annual Photography and Videography Day celebration and fund-raising for the construction of the association’s N20 million Ultra-Modern Hall on Sunday in Osogbo. Represented by Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, his special adviser on civic engagement, Oyetola said he was confident his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), would win back its mandate in court. “For now, there is a little setback and a challenge, but I want to assure you that we remain tall and confident in victory. “With what we have before the court, there is no cause for alarm. “We believe that by the grace of God, we will glorify God and celebrate our victory.” The governor thanked the people of the state for their support of his management since its inception. He also commended the association’s members for standing behind his administration, assuring them of continued government assistance to grow their businesses. In his remarks, association president Isaac Adegoke said association members were direct beneficiaries of the governor’s people-oriented programs. In addition, the Elerinrin of Ile-Ife, Olaoluwa Mudasiru, also the immediate past president of the association, praised the governor for his progress in the development of the state. The traditional ruler also thanked the governor for his support of the association. Mr. Oyetola filed a petition with the electoral court on August 5, challenging the results of the July 16 gubernatorial election won by Ademola Adeleke, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate.
