Instead, when she got to where I was sitting, she verbally attacked me with her voice loud, mocking me and asking me what I was supposed to do there and using vile language that could not be published,” Ms. Ojukwu said, according to Arise News. Continuing, he said, “Then, he kept aggressively putting his hands on my shoulders and yelling. Although I ignored his verbal onslaught, as advised by those sitting around me, I twice asked him to refrain from touching me with his hands. “She proceeded to do it one more time and went further to grab my head tie, which she unsuccessfully attempted to remove. As she walked towards me, I took off her wig. She grabbed her wig with both hands and tried to pull it off me. “This very act is considered sacrilege for a titled matriarch like me in Igbo culture. It was at that moment that I got up to defend myself and gave her a dirty slap to prevent her from attacking me.” Ms. Ojukwu, a former Nigerian ambassador to Spain, said it took the intervention of the former national chairman of the Grand Alliance of All Progressives, Victor Umeh, for Ms. Obiano to return to her seat. Ms Ojukwu said the former governor, Mr Obiano, “sat through the entire episode completely speechless.” She said the incident was “very embarrassing” for Obiano, who left the scene almost immediately, taking his wife with him. Ms. Ebelechukwu Obiano Ms. Ojukwu is said to have despised Governor Obiano’s administration during his eight-year tenure. Hours before Mr. Soludo’s inauguration, Ms. Ojukwu wrote on her Facebook page“It is the day of liberation, and today we sing the song of redemption,” apparently jubilant that Obiano’s administration was coming to an end. “Anambra will be better,” he added. “This is the day the Lord has made…a day that reaffirms the eternal truth that no one occupies the stage forever. I thank the Almighty for keeping us all alive to witness this day,” he said in another Facebook post.
